Well, the November activity check is now over, and we're now down to 14 members. I dunno what happened to some of the staff, but we should be fine with the 4 of us--Ama, Ria, Carn and myself. As for those who are missing.. well, hopefully nothing has happened to them. On a happier note, it is, of course, December. All the holidays are starting up, so I can understand why the activity may be going down. But I must say, it's on the rise. I'm thinking of a monthly activity check.. or at least one every two months. The next one will probably be after the holidays. Anyway... I also added the 'Open Threads' thing. I'm hoping it will be helpful for newer members. Here's the link: Open Threads. And Ria also gave the idea of having a board for the borders of the pack lands. It'll probably make things easier for newer members, so I'll have to get on that.

Another monthly update. The recent recession in activity is quite concerning, so.. we're basically starting over.. again.. I'm getting pretty tired of this, but.. *shrug* I dunno what to do with the inactive accounts... Guess we'll just have to wait till the end of the month to delete them in another activity check.. I'll be moving all the threads into the archives... I have deleted the affiliates who have deleted our banner and am advertising again. I dunno what happened to our former staff, but.. I'd like to welcome Ria (AKA Raksha) to the staff team. She's the only one that's still here and is actually helping, so thank you Ria. And any guests reading this.. we welcome you as well. Anyway.. That is pretty much all I have to say. Also, November is a month of remembrance and thanksgiving, so.. just keep that in mind.

Hi. Zylem here with your monthly update. *Shifts eyes* Sorry, just had to say that. Anyway... All inactive accounts have been deleted. All inactive threads have been moved. And I will soon create a Pre-Made character board... I've noticed the recent decline in activity... Especially for those who are supposed to be staff. I understand you have lives and all, but I would rather you at least tell me that you're going to be gone... and maybe that the staff position isn't right for you. New members - please join another thread or organize it so you and another member will have a thread together. I've seen it too many times when a promising member joins, then leaves because no one has replied to their thread. So, just to avoid that, please join another thread. If you're wondering what thread to join, ask in the cbox and someone will surely help you. OH, and I've also edited our playlist. It's workin now. And the affiliates have been moved to the main page. Well, the inactive member countdown is on, unfortunately, but I have given those people many chances to return... I'm sorry, but having inactive members may as well not be members at all. If you do actually return to the site and see that your account has been deleted, feel free to rejoin.. and maybe, y'know, be active. That would be great, so.. Anyway, by the end of this month (because we should all be adjusted to school by then), I will be deleting all accounts that have not signed in within the past month. Yes.. being an admin involves those depressing jobs, sorry to say.

Sorry with the frequent updates, but I remembered a few more things to say. There is now a 5-person staff team, in case you didn't notice. There will be no more, unfortunately (even that is a bit too much right now). But those are the people I choose and you better be happy about it. Now, the other thing I wanted to add was.. well, this plot is progressing rather slowly. I mean, I have it all planned out (most of it, anyway), but with the amount of members it isn't goin as fast as it could... Anyway, what I'm tryin to say is, we need mini-plots. You know, just to keep it interestin. So if you have any ideas, post in the rants part of the board. Now, don't be afraid. I'll accept almost anything... Almost...

As you've probably heard, the site is no longer adminless. I would just like to thank Frost and Carn, y'know, trying to keep the site alive. Sorry, but you don't really get an award for that. I know. It's unfortunate. We now have a 4-person staff team, including Eyolf/Terry, the not-so-new member. Any new members/guests... don't be afraid to post in the cbox, even though you have many reasons to be *cough*. Anyway... I've also sent out an activity check... the first one, I might add. I've been trying to improve a few things, so now would be a good time to make suggestions. Staff members, you don't need to ask to modify anything on the site, including making your own
announcements/
news/etc. But if you're unsure, ask me. Oh, and members, use the OOC board to pass time until... y'know, we get some members back..

In case you haven't noticed, I have set up both the YOTW and the site playlist... Though no one seems to be overly interested, which is fine. I've also done an OCC RPing board. This, on the other hand, looks to have obtained some interest, which is good. It's summer and all, and when I'm not doin' whatever, I'll have alot of time to improve the site (new skin, in case you haven't noticed that either), and am needing suggestions... really. I don't care what they are, and if you have one, even if it puts down what I've done with the site, TELL ME. Thank you.

Yes... I have decided to start over. There isn't much to say, other than, if you wish to help, you can message me. I will create a thread about it as soon as possible.
Winter has finally come to its end. All snow has dispersed and foliage is in full bloom. The previous yellow grasses are returning to their natural greens colours, while the trees are in the process of recuperation, producing the forests we once knew. With new growth comes new life. Prey, although it may not be much, is rejuvenating in numbers to nourish the wolf population. Expect mostly sunny days, but rain storms are on the rise.
Activity:
Currently, Archon is gathering pack members while trying to keep his old. This isn't working too well for him, however, seeing as his pack has now dwindled to only two members. But as loners continue to wander through, things seem to be looking up for the humble pack. Their high tensions stands in their way, though. If they wish to accept new members, the threesome is going to have to sort out their own problems before they can become a well coordinated and self-sufficient pack.

The packs have been living in fair peace through out the years. Quite nice, the peace has been. The four packs (Lunar Moon Pack, Amazon Lands, Fog Valley, and Twisted Desires) are friendly to each other. Maybe the reason is because they didn't often come near each other. But, this time, this year, this month, who knows, maybe even today, that will all change. Fights are starting to break out outside of packs... and inside of packs. Its getting deadlier and deadlier for parents or soon to be parents to have or raise pups. Wolves are dying, and its all because of some lousy wolves who are lazy, and won't hunt on their territory or such. All the wolves agree, surprisingly, that they should punish the wolves who do so. But, leaders haven't been enforcing it. Actually, they’ve been the ones saying for the wolves to do it!
Will you venture into modern Russia, and join a pack? Or, would you be a loner? Live the life as a wolf, or dog, or something along the Canis line. Hunt, mate, enjoy life, hate life, its all here in Wolves of the Woods. Live or die. Yep, that’s the code.

Personality: Kind hearted as she is, she can also be one to protect others. Niraya's lonely from the loss of her mother but learned to quickly that she needed to keep moving ahead. She had always been a quick learner as she has always been kind hearted. comforting her friends when they needed it. Times when she was alone she loved to sleep. Never lazy though she could pick herself up and start wrestling with the only other pup that was in the pack.
She didn't like that fact that she was never allowed to go with her mother when she left the den. When she did get outside she was only allowed so far. It bugged her so much that she couldn't just walk away from the den a little without being called back. At night she preferred to stay inside for the fact of the noises she heard but never knew what was always sent chills down her spine and made her black fur stand on end. When she was scared, she always liked the comfort of her mother. So at night she would curl up beside her so she could sleep better.

History: Niraya liked where she was from. Everyone around her was friendly toward her so she was to them. Her recent pack was small but it was the only family she had. Her mother, Erinaya, was proud of her quick learning daughter, where she had learned to listen to her from the start. It could take a while for her to pick up on other things but in the end she could grasp it quite clearly. She could also grasp the fact that when the elder of the group died, they had to move. The dead corpse brought an awful smell that surrounded the packs territory that soon enough brought hunters.
Niraya's father, Shranai, had left the pack when he found out that her mother was pregnant. Being the coward he was, the black wolf fled the pack and never heard from him again. Leaving her mother to help fend off the hunters from her pack, being that it is the duty of the alpha female. As Niraya was being guided away from her home and her mother by a close friend, Kalima, all she could do was run forward on her little black paws and not think about what's happening.
She couldn't run no more so she had to stop. Trailing behind increasingly, Kalima had noticed Niraya was missing so she stopped to come back and look for her. When she had come back, Niraya was laying on the ground with her tongue lolling and her breathing hard. She grabbed her by the neck in her jaws and quickly carried her back to the awaiting group. The one she had left in charge, Sethila, was laid down under a tree with the other pup and her mate, Alucard, waiting for them.
Niraya was dehydrated and she needed water fast. Alana, the other female, set out to find water of some sort while Alucard was left watching over Kodia, the other pup. Kalima was looking over Niraya closely as she was close to dying and she could feel it. Kalima knew she had to do something fast or she was going to die. For the time being while she waited in the shade, she licked over Niraya's face and fur to keep her cool until Alana returned.
Alana then returned and led Kalima and Niraya to the water she had found. Nothing more than a shallow pool but it was still water that could help. Kalima took some in her mouth and fed it to Niraya bit by bit until she could finally open her eyes. She was so happy that she was recovering that ever since then, she took Niraya in and cared for her as she was her own. kalima knew her mother wasn't going to find them again because it wasn't a chance that she would be alive.
But as Niraya grew older so did Kalima, Alana, Alucard, and Kodia. Alana was first to leave them with old age. By then, Niraya was only 7 months old. When she turned 8 months Alucard had past away as well by not having Alana at his side. Kodia was the same age as Niraya but soon traveled off by his self, trying to prove that he could fend for himself to early in his years. He tried it anyway then Kalima was left taking care of Niraya by herself. She could handle it before and she could handle it now but Kalima was 7 years old. She was growing older and she then passed when Niraya turned 11 months old.
Niraya then kept moving after loosing so many people that was close to her. She was heartbroken but learned a lot from it. You have to know when to give up and when to not try. She know resides here, looking for another family to start off her own life.

Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.

What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?

Sled racing. A huge craze in the 1900's had disappeared for years, but now it is coming back with an intense aggression. The rules have changed, and so have the people. Both the youth and the elders are fighting for the old tradition. It won't be easy. People around the world have discovered the news, and competition is growing immensely. It's going to be dangerous, scary and thrilling! The trend is spreading like cold touch. Like wild fire. That's why your heart might start to feel Like Ice.

Name: Saebrina. (Say-bree-nuh) Nickname: Saebri or Sae. Gender: Female. Age: 1 year and a half.
Birth Date: July 11th Type: Arctic Wolf. (More like vanilla ice cream, lol.)
Personality: Saebrina is a puppy at heart and will always be one. From the moment she was born she was always trailing off somewhere where her mother and fellow babysitters would have to run off and grab her. Out of a litter of four, Saebri was known as the fearless one. But she wasn't the kind of fearless where she'd start brawls and boss people around; Saebrina is the type of fearless who is never afraid of the unknown. In her pack's translation her name means, "Endless Laughter," because she is a ball of vanilla energy and is always getting into silly situations (to which she either survives hilariously or dangerously.). Saebrina can always find a reason to laugh and learn out of almost anything, and she tries to defy the structured laws of being a wolf. She climbs trees and will fish in streams along with grizzly and black bears. Pups adore her and the hunters of the pack often value her because she is such a fast runner with clever intelligence. Saebrina values friendship and refuses to dislike someone unless they give her a reason to; and if there is one....well....do we really have to say? However....behind all of those wolfie smiles and twinkling hazel-green eyes.....Saebrina's past tells another story......
History:
The first born of a litter of four, Saebrina was the spunkiest and silliest out of all of her brothers and sisters. She was also the only one who was visually challenged.
Saebrina was set apart from her siblings by her creamy colored fur and bright eyes, which would soon pale as three days passed. As always Saebrina would be fed the most because she was the first, yet feeding time was short because she would always run off out of the den to go play with the adults, causing her siblings to trolley after her. Where ever Sae went she could bring in a party of fun or a load of trouble. But she couldn't help it because it was her nature. As the days turned to weeks and months Saebrina became more and more aware of her disability and began to see that in one way or another her brothers and sister would fair better than her, because they had the ability to see and she did not. So as she got older she realized that no matter how hard she tried she would never be like a regular wolf and drove to make it her own way. When her parents were out teaching her siblings how to hunt Saebrina would watch from afar because they feared she would be trampled on or hurt. Only to have her turn around at night and twist the methods of her parents and take them straight into the trees; Saebrina never told her mother, father, or anyone else about her new found agility or tree-climbing ability. In her eyes, they would just strip her of the only independence she ever had.
Between her and her younger sister Leah, there was tension and hatred. Leah hated her sister for being born first and hated her for existing period. Leah wanted to be the best of the best and saw her sister as a threat to her ascension of being Alphess. So on one fine, eventful evening Saebrina's littermate devised a plan to kill off two birds, or shall we say wolves, with one stone.
Saebrina was told to meet her at the top of a cliff when the moon was full. As the white canine arrived on the scene she was ambushed and through all of the confusion she began to fight back. Her enemy was strong, that much she knew, so she brawled with every strength of tooth and nail that she ever had. But when a wind caught her off balance the wolf who attacked her made a move to strike when suddenly...everything stopped.
Falcon arrived on the scene and with one forceful move he knocked the assaulter over the cliff and watched them fall to the death. When it was all over, he crept over to his sister and planned to console her and help her....but by now Saebrina was badly shaken up.
The vanilla wolf whirled around in a crazed frenzy and struck a blow to the side of her brother's head. In all of the confusion from the ambush she had lost all of her senses and had gone completely mad. Falcon jumped on her to tackle her to the ground but she moved out of the way and pushed him over the cliff, herself falling with them. A loud crash sounded in the night and all three wolves lay motionless on the ground. By the time Saebrina came to, she stumbled on one of them and felt around until she came across a familiar half bitten ear......
And at that moment.....Saebrina realized that in her efforts to kill her attacker.....she had murdered her brother.
Since that day her family never saw her again. Saebrina left the groved forest and set off on her own. Her sister Leah, displeased by the fact that she was still alive, told false stories of her slaughtering Falcon so that she could ascend the 'throne'. The story was never cleared up, and Falcon was not alive to bring truth to Leah's tall tale. Until the tears of the sun learn to dry......and the march of the birds fail to sing....Saebrina will always and forever be......
A murderer.
Health: As far as physical and mental goes, Sae is as healthy as a running bull! But she is visually impaired. Her right eye is completely blind and her left one is barely any better. Her left eye can see colors and silhouettes but hardly any detail. Because of this she has no recognition of distance and will often hop off of a rock that is 20 feet high while having NO idea of the danger.Thank goodness for her heightened hearing and smelling senses!
Other: Saebrina is actually a twin. She and her brother Falcon were born at the exact same time, which, was alot of excruciating pain for their mother Noelle. She is a fluent speaker of Spanish as well as Canis Lupus English. She is an adamant lover of exploring and adores pups to no end. Secretly....Saebri wishes that one day she would find a mate who would accept her differences and one day have pups of her own.
