Gender: Male
Age: 3 years (July 18th)
Type: Rocky Mountain Wolf
Personality:
There’s no escape from this rage that I feel…
Personality disorder definition: a mental illness in which your ways of thinking, reacting and interacting are dysfunctional.
If I were to describe Archon in one, simple sentence, that would be his personality. Now whether or not he actually has a personality disorder is still up for debate, but it is clear that Archon isn’t exactly right in the head. He may not seem that way at first because, for the most part, he acts relatively normal (keep in mind that I use the term ‘normal’ loosely), but in his mind, he feels that every single wolf has something against him, that every single wolf can’t stand him, and that every single wolf will intentionally seek to harm him. Although this may be the truth in some cases, clearly not everyone is out to get him. Archon is simply overly paranoid—about as paranoid as they come, really. For instance, he hardly ever turns his back toward someone, even if he has known said wolf his entire life. To Archon, there is no such thing as genuine kindness or compassion—that is, not unless there’s something in it for them. See, he expects everyone to be like him, and he certainly wouldn’t go out of his way to help anyone. He believes that whenever a wolf does so that they’re simply attempting to gain his trust so as to later manipulate him, thus reinstating his paranoia.
Now, not only is he overly suspicious of another wolf’s motives, but he is also a social retard. When Archon had been a pup, he hadn’t been taught much civility, and therefore things that would seem odd or rude to the average wolf—such as licking your private areas in mid-conversation, for example—is a completely normal act in Archon’s mind. I wouldn’t suggest giving him any strange looks, either, because doing so could trigger some sort of annoyance in him, and annoying someone as robust as Archon is not recommended for your health. Despite his obvious social retardation, however, Archon likes to believe that he is a social butterfly. He prefers to think of himself as likable, even if he is far, very far from that, and if you so much as tell him otherwise, you can expect an explosion similar to that of a volcano blowing up in your face. See, Archon is a bit insecure, and somewhere, deep, deep down, he knows he is anything but likable. Therefore, being reminded that his attempts to ‘fit in’ were pretty much a failure is what sends him into a frenzy. Now when I say that he has anger management issues, I'm not kidding. It’s as though the only emotion he ever feels is anger—which, actually, is not far from the truth. His discomfort, sadness, insecurity… they all translate into anger, and well, to be honest, Archon has never experienced true joy or friendship, and I’m fairly certain that could piss anyone off. He is really just angry with the world, and one of his talents is that he can find a reason to despise anything. Really. Even a cute little kitten can be completely loathed by Archon. His constant anger, however, is one of the reasons why he is socially retarded. When interacting with others, he will demand their respect, and if it is not given, he will simply become even angrier, convinced that said person must be conspiring against him if they don’t approve and respect him.
Archon, however, despite his lack of social skills, is not as stupid as you may be led to believe. He is simply ignorant and just… doesn’t know. If given the chance, Archon could actually prove to be quite smart, but for now, he remains a social retard.
As if these flaws weren’t enough, Archon also suffers from frequent flashbacks. Any reminder of his past can trigger one, though it usually tends to be a large body of water, and occasionally rain as well will do it. However, it can only take place when his mind is already exhausted, which has the tendency to be during the night, though it can happen on other occasions as well. If you’re there to witness it, he’ll get a distant look to his eye and will become oddly silent when revisiting his past. After the flashback occurs, however, it’s as though he became a completely different wolf—shy, soft-spoken, reserved, apologetic… the complete opposite of the Archon we all know andhate love. However, these changes in character are only short lived, and they leave as quickly as they come. Before you know it, Archon is back to his normal, explosive self, leaving most people to believe that it was simply an odd mood swing.
So yes, with all this considered, it is questionable whether or not Archon does have a personality disorder, and whether or not he is sane, but the main point is that he has many, many insecurities, and he feels that the only way he can deal with these insecurities is to become angry with them and conceal them from others (even though he does a half-assed job of it). Really, when he’s frustrated, it is most times frustration with himself. However, most wolves are not aware of this, and because of his constant fury, Archon has plenty of trouble when it comes to getting along with others. In fact, the relationships he is most likely to create would not be friendships, like he desperately needs, but simply be enemies.
History:
Archon, when a pup, was not expected to live. No, it was not his health condition. In fact, he had been born quite strong as a pup. No, it was not that. It was the fact that his birth was not meant to occur. Yes, indeed; the reason for his life is wolf-rape. At the worst times, as well. The predetors were stricken with the pangs of poverty and more mouths to feed was not apart of the pack's course of action. In conclusion, his existence was both a disgrace and a burden. Granted, Archon himself had no knowledge of this. But every single wolf he had known did. Archon didn't understand why he was singled out, and with no siblings to romp with, he was completely isolated from the world. Nothing he did was ever good enough; he could never perform correctly, even while following the precise directions. In their eyes, he was inferior and useless; unable to amount to anything. Not even worth the pitiful life he had been given, which was why his mother had prepared herself to take it.
At six months of age - six months of denial, ignorance and raising tension, his mother eventually broke. She had enough.
"Mother, where are we going..." Such an harmless question would receive a reply, wouldn't it... He found himself to be rather fatigued; they had travelled for quite some time, to terrain he had yet to lay eyes on. This lead him to question when they were going to rest. Not far from where they walked, he could hear the force of the rapids as they collided with rock. Although what he wished to hear - his mother's response - did not enter his senses. This brought a hefty sigh as he continued to trail behind her. Before she had seemed very angry toward him, but now that was replaced with ignorance. His young mind couldn't comprehend why. "What have I done wrong, Mother..." he pleaded in desperation to mend his past faults, even though he could not recall any. Silence. "I-I... could fix it... if you gave me a chance.... I could fix me..." His voice was strained now. How drastically did he need his mother's acknowledgment - or any one's, for that matter. He felt so hated - so alone. "Please, Mother, tell me... why." For as long as he could remember, this was the first, and last time he spotted tears welling in his mother's eyes, although he could not understand why. She had ceased walking and had turned to face him, her mouth open, as if to speak...
"Good-bye,Archon," was all she had said before taking hold of the nape of his neck. The pup struggled within her grasp, an uneasy sensation whirling within his stomach. Why had she said good-bye... Archon wasn't going anywhere... was he...
His mother's hold seemed to slacken as the pup dangled above the fury of the rapids. Archon was whimpering now, but not much could be heard over the water's pure power. Before he could so much as react, his slender body had submersed in what he had once known as water, but now calls a traitor. How can something that gave him life now take it so easily... However, the true ones to blame in this circumstance are the undeniable force we know as gravity, and the equally potent force, his mother's will. "May God be merciful in your death," Virma called before departing from the scene. But being immersed in liquid can make it difficult for one to hear these things. His doom was now held by nature's capable hands. Would he say hello to a rock, or simply drown... Decisions, decisions... [WIP]
